![]() Alice Goldberg's lifelong connection to the East Liberty Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh started as a 6-year-old, when she would walk to the Library from home. The East Liberty Library is one of 18 Branches located in diverse communities in Pittsburgh. Each Branch features a collection and activities that reflect the people and needs of the surrounding neighborhood. Many Branches offer job-support materials specifically geared toward local residents. In neighborhoods where many seniors live, libraries offer materials and services that cater to their needs and interests. In smaller communities, Branches often double as activity centers. Library Branches not only serve as hubs of information, but they play a central role in maintaining a strong, close-knit community. |
