More than a 100 years ago, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh became the first ever to feature a separate children's area. That commitment continues today, with services and materials geared toward children from preschool age to teenagers. Story times bring little ones and adults together to build interest in books and stories. Summer reading programs offer a no-pressure way for children to maintain reading skills mastered during the school year. And the "Kids Talk About Books" program gives children the chance to meet the author of their favorite story. These are just a few of the ways Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh opens doors to learning and creativity for young people. |
