![]() After 30 years as a Wall Street numbers cruncher, June Seals decided it was time to make a dramatic career change. Following her move to Pittsburgh four years ago, she began to think about how to turn a part-time hobby -- making capes -- into a full-time career. When she needed access to resources and tips to help get the business idea off the ground, the Business Services Department at The Library Center of Point Park College and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh downtown offered a wealth of resources. It also offered diverse periodicals and fashion magazines that she found inspiring. The Library Center provides free resources and assistance to current and prospective small business owners. Today, Ms. Seals creates custom-made, intricately detailed capes, special-occasion gowns and costumes at her Lawrenceville shop, The Woman Inside. |
