New Hours Start 9/15
Hours of Operations Changing for Most CLP Locations
Pittsburgh--September 12, 2003: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will adjust its scheduled hours of operations starting Monday, September 15, 2003. The schedule changes will apply to all but three of its neighborhood locations and the Oakland-based Main Library. These changes will not increase the number of hours the libraries are open.
Schedules for the Main Library, Allegheny Regional, East Liberty and Squirrel Hill locations will not change on September 15, 2003. All other schedules will be posted online at www.carnegielibrary.org.
For more information, please contact your local library or visit it online at www.carnegielibrary.org.
Note: A 50 percent drop in state funding for Pennsylvania's public libraries meant a loss of $2.4 million for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh system. In July, the Library reduced its hours of operations by an average of 21 percent, eliminated Sunday hours at the Main Library and Squirrel Hill library and took other difficult measures to avoid an operating deficit.
