What: The nation will commemorate the 30th annual National Volunteer Week, April 27-May 3, in recognition and celebration of volunteers at the local, state and national level.

This year at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Temple Sinai volunteers will assist Library staff in preparing, packing and shifting parts of the Main Library collections in advance of mid-summer renovations. Ultimately, the Library will need to relocate three million items in this process.

Temple Sinai's Mitzvah Day activities at CLP on Sunday, April 27, 2003, represent the first stages of the project that is designed to create a customer-friendly Main Library.

When: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2003

Where: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Oakland 4400 Forbes Avenue

(News photographers/reporters please use Main Library Front Entrance/Schenley Drive and ask the Security/Help Desk for Connie Galbraith and Volunteer Services.)

Public Info: If you or your company would like to learn more about unique volunteer opportunities available at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, please call Connie Galbraith, director of volunteer services at 412-578-2640.
