Become a Library Volunteer
Hundreds of volunteers, from teens to seniors, are critical to the Library. They work in all the locations and perform vital jobs.
As valued members of the CLP team, volunteers learn about our many programs-and they're constantly exposed to ideas, books, book lovers, and authors. It's a great way to serve your community while meeting interesting people and expanding your horizons.
To Volunteer
To learn how you can get in on the action - and the benefits of volunteering at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, please fill out our online application form.
Most opportunities ask for a commitment of two to four hours each week for three to six months.
Volunteers who may work with children must have clearances. Clearances are background checks required for anyone who may come in contact with children. The volunteer is responsible for obtaining the clearances. For more information go to the Pennsylvania Department Public Welfare Child Abuse Clearance web site.
Thank you for your support of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
