Strategic Alliances: The New Way to Fundraise

This course will:

* Define resource development through strategic alliances
* Talk about the importance of incorporating collaborative resource development projects in an organization’s fundraising and development efforts
* Discuss the benefits and challenges of conducting collaborative grant and fundraising efforts
* Share examples of collaborative resource development efforts
* Provide some best practices to use when engaging in collaborative resource development
* Offer an opportunity for participants to discuss how to incorporate joint fundraising efforts within their own organizations

The speaker will be Dr. Marsha Tongel, President of Tongel Consulting Group, Inc., which provides services to nonprofits in the areas of Organizational, Professional and Resource Development including: collaborative projects, restructuring and reorganization, mergers, change management, total quality initiatives, etc.

Dr. Tongel has developed and presented workshops on New Design Leadership for Emergent Organizations, The New Non-Profit - The New Structure: Evolving Ways of Doing Business & The New Board: Achieving Maximum Governance for Re-Tool Erie and the Erie Non-Profit Partnership. She was part of a panel for a workshop called So You Want to Partner? at the 2007 Nonprofit Summit in Pittsburgh, and has co-presented various workshops including; Keys to Success with Organizational Partnering at the 2007 Erie Nonprofit Conference, Understanding the Organizational Partnering Continuum and Do You Speak Collaboration? at the 2009 conference, and Reinvigorate Your Organization Through Collaborative Thinking/Collaborative Funding in 2010.

The cost to attend this program is $20 per person, which includes a light continental breakfast. Registration is required by calling the Foundation Center at 412-622-6277.
