Gardening Thyme: Edible Growing Walls with Jose Diaz

Jose Diaz, Senior Community Organizer at Operation Better Block, Inc. (OBB), a nonprofit organization located in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood, will talk about the construction of edible “green” walls in his organization to increase the availability of fresh produce.

Prior to OBB, Jose worked at the Hill House Association in the Hill District, where he mobilized residents in support of Find the Rivers! an initiative to spur river-based activities and development.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Jose holds a Master of Social Work degree in community organization and social administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
