BLAST: Bringing Libraries And Schools Together

The BLAST School Outreach Program of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh offers monthly literacy based thematic programs for Kindergarten through Fifth grade classrooms in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. An Introduction to the Library program is also available every month.

Program length is one period (40-45 minutes). One program per month is offered to each class. For scheduling purposes, please consult with all interested staff about coordinating visits for the same day. Also, a lunch period for BLAST staff should be included into a full day schedule. Thank you!
