Theme Bags for Teachers & Librarians

Due to the closure of the Allegheny Regional location, the Theme Bags are temporarily unavailable for circulation.

The Theme Bag Collection helps address the needs of preschool and early elementary teachers who wish to share theme-based stories and activities with their students by providing a package complete with up to 15 high-quality picture books and at least one parent/teacher guide. Many bags also contain items to further enhance the story experience such at puppets, flannelboard pieces, or other manipulatives.

Most theme bags are designed for children in preschool through early primary school. Bags particularly suited to a specific age will be labeled accordingly.

Bags may be borrowed by anyone with a valid Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Teacher Card but must be checked out and returned at the Allegheny Regional Branch. Pick up bags in the children's room of the Allegheny Regional Branch. You may call up to a week in advance to reserve a bag for pick-up.

Questions about the bags? Please call: 412.237.1892.
