Oral History of Music in Pittsburgh

The Oral History of Music in Pittsburgh (OHMP) collection consists of over 300 interviews conducted by Mr. Maurice Levy, unless indicated otherwise. Mr. Levy is a long-time Music Department volunteer and a legendary mathematics teacher (now retired) in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. The interviews include a wide variety of people in Pittsburgh who have been heavily involved with professional and amateur music, be it in the areas of jazz, classical, popular, or folk and traditional. The project began in 1991 and continues.

Each of the recorded interviews is available for listening in the Music Department.
