What We Offer
Through CLP - BAM!, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh offers the following services geared toward a teen audience:
- card registration
- material circulation
- social and video gaming
- media creation
Additionally, Teen Specialists can be requested to visit classrooms and other locations to perform “booktalks,” designed to tantalize readers about potential recreational reading material, or teach students about Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s catalog and research database search techniques. These visits can be requested for students or as training for teachers, social workers and other groups of adults who routinely work with teens.
Group card registrations may also be requested in advance, without requiring a visit from Library staff.
Where We Visit
CLP - BAM! is designed to adapt to many different environments. Whether a school cafeteria, public pool, after-school program or community center picnic, our Teen Specialists can develop an outreach program that is appropriate for your space.
Why CLP - BAM!?
CLP - BAM! enriches the lives of teens in your school or community center by directly connecting them with a fun array of materials, activities and the Library staff they are likely to encounter in their neighborhood public library.
We believe that CLP - BAM! is an especially good opportunity for teachers and schools who may be interested in connecting their students with the Library but may not be able to detract from valuable instruction time to do so. By requesting Teen Specialists to visit the cafeteria during lunch hour or at after-school programs and events, our staff can connect your students with literature and learning with minimal interruption to the school day.
